Here we will post the names of players who are not following the rules.

This forum has been created so everyone can see; Who won't change lines. Who is costing Part Time players the opportunity to play by not posting. Who has outstanding fines, etc.

It IS our intent to make these folks accountable for their actions and to be more respectful of the other players.

Mark Beldman & Patrick Stewardson SUSPENDED

Post by GAMES Available »

Due to an on-ice physical altercation on Oct. 15 during the final minute of play in the 8 p.m. game, the following suspensions have been levied:

The JFFHL will not tolerate such actions. Our mandate is to provide a safe, fun, non-contact space where all players can enjoy the game.
This is the first such physical altercation in 44 JFFHL seasons.

We do not tolerate aggressive play toward other players. Players are expected to exercise self-control and discipline by removing themselves from confrontational situations by leaving the ice surface or avoiding opponents when aggravated.

RULE 3C
There is absolutely NO CONTACT in any division. Any intentional contact will be called by the ref and may result in a minor or major penalty at the official's discretion.
The interaction was essentially a wrestling match and resulted in both players receiving minor penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct and roughing, plus a game misconduct.

Mark Beldman: Suspended for FOUR GAMES for pursuing, provoking and further engaging Patrick Stewardson, and engaging in a physical altercation.
A 4-game suspension has now been imposed for the overly aggressive retaliatory conduct and precipitating a physical incident.[/color]

Mark has been in the JFFHL for 10+ years, with NO PRIOR INCIDENTS of any kind.
He has previously shown respect for the league and the other players.
This incident is certainly out of character for him.

Patrick Stewardson has been suspended for TWO GAMES for reciprocating and engaging another player in a physical altercation.
A 2-game suspension has now been imposed for the overly aggressive retaliatory conduct and precipitating a physical incident.

Patrick has been in the JFFHL for 2 years, with NO PRIOR INCIDENTS of any kind.
He has previously shown respect for the league and the other players.
This incident is certainly out of character for him.

Players must exercise self-control and discipline by removing themselves from confrontational situations by leaving the ice surface or avoiding opponents when in an aggravated state.

As noted in Rule 3C, this could (very easily) have resulted in major penalties, at the league and referee's discretion, with a suspension of up to 10 games or the full season and loss of all monies paid.
